MASK Hair Designs Day Spa "does good"
12 hours, 20 stylists, A GREAT Success!
On Sunday, September 20th from 10am to 10pm MASK Hair Designs Day Spa hosted their first annual
"HAIR DO GOOD", a 12-hour hair cutting event to benefit Camp Get-A-Well-A.
Camp Get-A-Well-A is a local non-profit that brings the camp experience into children’s hospitals for seriously
ill children and children with disabilities. (www.campgetawella.org)
The event featured a full service consultation, shampoo, cut and blow dry for a $10 minimum donation.
The event raised almost $3,000.00 with over 150 cuts! Every penny will go to Camp Get-A-Well-A and
will fund a week long camp at a local hospital in the Twin Cities Metro Area. Not only did MASK raise
money, they also donated all of the products used, collected donations for producing the event and every
stylist donated their time. Thank you to these amazing women!
Camp Get-A-Well-A is a camp experience brought to children’s hospitals in four states. If kids can’t go to
camp, they bring camp to them! They bring activities into the hospital so that patients and their families
can experience the fun and laughter of the favorite childhood ritual of camp. Activities like a zoo visit
with animals, tie-dye, music, camper bingo, carnivals, crafts and more take place in the hospital playrooms
or at a bedside. At Camp Get-A-Well-A, they feel it is important to recognize that children in the hospital
need to not only have their physical needs met, but their social and emotional needs as well.
Camp Get-A-Well-A is free to children’s hospitals, patients and their families.
Executive Director JoLanne Hanson says, “For the kids, we provide a much-needed distraction
and well-deserved memories. Many parents have told me that Camp has brought smiles to their
kids’ faces for the first time in months. Providing some fun and social opportunities in the face of
a difficult time for families is what we’re all about.”
Trisha Dahlheimer of MASK Hair Designs Day Spa says, “MASK has supported Camp Get-A-Well-A in
